Start your journey with a morning departure along the N1 Highway, passing through the scenic Huguenot Tunnel and Hex River Valley. Admire the beauty of the Table Grapes region before arriving at a Big Five Game Reserve. Upon arrival, enjoy refreshing welcome drinks and a hearty breakfast to prepare for the exciting adventure ahead.
Embark on a 2–3 hour game drive in an open-top vehicle guided by a knowledgeable ranger. Experience the diverse wildlife and habitats of the reserve, perfect for wildlife and bird enthusiasts. Look out for giraffes, wildebeests, zebras, springboks, ostriches, and other fascinating animals. The drive provides ample opportunities for unforgettable wildlife encounters and photography.
After the game drive, savor a delicious lunch at the lodge. On your return to Cape Town, you have the option to stop at Fairview Winery for a wine-tasting experience. The day concludes when you arrive back at your hotel and complete a memorable South African safari adventure.

Tour Plan
Pick-Up in Cape Town
Grand Lion Tours will pick you up from your accommodation within a 5km radius of Cape Town. The pick-up time is between 8:30 am and 9:00 am to ensure maximum time at the game reserve. A professional driver and guide will accompany you during the approximately 2-hour journey via the N1 national route to Aquila Game Reserve.
Stop at Shell Garage
During the drive, we will make a short stop at a Shell garage. Here, you can purchase coffee, juice, or beer, shop for souvenirs, and use the restroom.
Arrive at Aquila Private Game Reserve
Upon arrival at Aquila Game Reserve, you will be greeted with a welcome drink, choosing from red wine, white wine, or juice. Lunch is included in the tour package (beverages are excluded).
Game Drive
Explore the reserve on a guided game drive in an open 4x4 vehicle. A knowledgeable game ranger will share insights about the animals and their environment as you enjoy the breathtaking scenery.
Wildlife Encounters
Aquila Game Reserve is home to the Big Five: Lion, Elephant, Buffalo, Rhino, and Leopard. You may also encounter zebras, giraffes, and other species in their natural habitat.
Return Stop at Shell Garage
On the return trip to Cape Town, we will stop again at the Shell garage. This is an opportunity to grab a drink, stretch your legs, or use the restroom.
Drop-Off in Cape Town
After an exciting day, we will drop you off at your original location in Cape Town.
